

	News... Construction Project - Fort Washington (Update 11/28/2011) Pennsylvania Avenue reopened Reconstructionof the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Camphill Road has been completed. The project began in March and was completed this November, 2011, several months ahead of schedule. Access from Pennsylvania avenue has reopened. Please use caution when entering the intersection and updated traffic patterns. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Sanctuary Model at Wordsworth Wordsworth is a trauma-informed organization, committed to establishing a culture within which healing from traumatic experiences can occur. Wordsworth is implementing The Sanctuary Model ®, an evidence-supported organizational approach for creating a safe environment for the children and families we serve and the staff who serve them. Wordsworth embraces the Seven Commitments of the Sanctuary Model in order that this trauma-informed approach to our work is embedded in every facet of our organization. Wordsworth at Ford Road thanked our staff and clients who went through the Sanctuary training by having a picnic with wonderful food and games for all. The concept of trauma- informed care was originated by Dr. Sandra Bloom 25 years ago in New York State . It is currently being endorsed by Estelle Richman and the State of Pennsylvania as a part of the restraint reduction/elimination initiative. Wordsworth was selected from a large pool of applicants to receive state grant money as we implement the Sanctuary Model into all of our programs over the next three years.Additional information about the Sanctuary Model can be found at http://www.sanctuaryweb.com/
