Wordsworth is so fortunate to work with organizations large and small. This week we had some young philanthropists drop off donations. AJ Farrington and his friend JC Chapman donated 25 Together We Rise Sweet Cases filled with toys, hygiene kits, and other necessities for children entering foster care. Some of the bags were donated and decorated by the Waldron Mercy Academy Betterball Grade 3 Basketball Team and the rest were donated by JC’s friends in lieu of gifts for JC’s 9th birthday. Each case was beautifully hand decorated by the boys and will go to a child in care. Together We Rise is a non-profit organization that provides thousands of foster youth across the country with new bicycles, college supplies, and suitcases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag. You can learn more about them by CLICKING HERE.
Meanwhile, Alisa Verratti, a junior at St.Joseph’s University, and her organization Make A Wave donated clothes and books for the children in our care. Make A Wave is a non-profit organization that collects donations for children in foster care. Their goal is to give back to those who may not have the resources they need, because even the smallest drop can create the biggest wave.
We are so inspired by these young people who are spending their time and efforts to do good in the world. Bravo!
